Recently we were in beautiful Bargara beach for our annual pilgrimage to witness the endangered loggerhead turtle nesting. One afternoon, as I sat on our balcony mesmerised by the constant rolling in of the tide, I was inspired to write this poem. I hope you enjoy. (Image: Rainbow Beach)
The vast light-gilded ocean tricks our eyes with its expansiveness.
Enticing us with brilliant hues of blue; reflecting the interplay of light and depth.
The waves roll in and in, lapping at the earth with a quiet receding.
Asking nothing in return. Continuing to roll in, endlessly, until the end of time.
The ocean is a reminder of the universal energy – spirit energy.
Spirit has no end and no beginning, vast with a breadth and depth incalculable.
Spirit energy is ever flowing, rolling in and in, recharging and replenishing.
An invitation to course through our being – received through creativity, play and stillness.
There is no scarcity in ocean or spirit; no selfishness or holding back.
The tide doesn’t fear judgement or carry doubt; it doesn’t sabotage its constant rolling in.
Spirit doesn’t stop its flow, even when not acknowledged; it continues its endless stream.
Ocean and spirit keep rolling in, with certainty, with absolute knowing. With abundance.
Embrace this flowing, with open arms and open hearts.
Let the ocean wash over you, reinvigorating and cleansing.
Let spirit run through you, reconnecting and healing.
There is no beginning and no end to this flow; just an invitation to receive.
